Fast Internet Connections: DSL, ISDN, and Cable

[Zap!] Updated: Jun 11, 2002

Here are links to detailed information about these three types of high-speed Internet connections.

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line)

These high-speed phone lines are becoming more common in the U.S. A nice feature is that you can use a DSL line for a data connection to the Internet and for voice calls at the same time -- it's like having two phone lines.

ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network)

ISDN phone lines are more common in Europe than in the U.S.

Cable Internet Access

If you have cable TV, consider adding cable Internet to your service. The cable is already there -- use it for something more interesting than television!
